This contemporary adult romance follows co-workers and friends tied to a damaged bookstore and a bar, with a central relationship that turns into explicit physical intimacy. Parents should expect frequent strong language from many characters, not only villains, during stress, drinking settings, and breakups or family pressure. There is also moderate physical danger from a controlling ex who grabs, hits, and pursues the heroine; injuries and self-defense are described without needing plot specifics. The overall mix of heavy profanity, very frequent strong swears, and graphic adult sex scenes pushes the book beyond a teen-friendly range even though the sampled material does not show racism, blasphemy-focused themes, or LGBTQ+ identity as plot focus.

About this book
This enemies to lovers romance will hook you from page one! My mug shot didn’t turn out as great as I thought it would. I probably should have smiled. Maybe I would have if I had actually committed the crime. Instead, I’m the walking billboard of someone who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The only bonus of being accused of vandalism is that the owner's mom has taken pity on me and thanks to her I will now have a place to sleep tonight, and well, all the nights until the bookstore that was destroyed is back up and running. Living in a bookstore sounds like a dream, and it would be, if the owner's son wasn’t such a jerk. All things considered, I’m a nice person, but this guy *rolls eyes* is the absolute worst and working with him day after day is going to be my biggest challenge yet. Or, okay, my biggest struggle might actually be ignoring how attracted I am to him. I mean come on, he is a broody college guy with a smoking body who thinks I'm a criminal. It doesn't exactly scream that I should fall for him, right? And yet … I really didn’t think life could get more complicated than it has been to this point. Wish me luck. Read more
